Organised by Engage, the morning session will explore how digitalisation and virtualisation are changing the ATM service provision landscape, with a presentation of the RoMiAD ('Role of markets in the AAS deployment') project by Think Research. The presentation will provide a high-level, holistic view of the economics of ATM virtualisation and will be followed by an industry panel discussion on the practical challenges of increasing digitalisation and virtualisation.

The afternoon session will aim to widen the context to current exploratory research on ATM incentives with a a second panel tackling how to incentivise positive change in ATM.

The workshop will conclude with a session in which participants will be invited to help define future research needs. This session will draw upon a poll conducted in advance of the workshop on what future research can already be proposed for SESAR 3.
