SESAR is taking part in Aerodays 2011, the sixth European Aeronautics day in Madrid from 30 March to 1 April.
Organised jointly by the CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology in Spain) and the European Commission , Aerodays brings together aeronautics stakeholders, ministries, agencies and R&D centres to network, present their latest research results and discuss common future R&D projects. Commissioners Sim Kallas (Transport) and Máire Geoghegan-Quinn (Research & Innovation) will also be present, as well as many engineers, industry representatives and researchers involved in FP7 projects.
In addition to its stand in the European Commission exhibition area, the SESAR Joint Undertaking with its members is participating in two SESAR Forums: one on Technology and one on Innovations, both chaired by Peter Hotham, SESAR JU Chief Technology and Innovation, with presentations from Airbus, Thales, Frequentis, SELEX, ENAV, AENA, Innaxis and Indra. The Technology Forum takes place on Thursday 31 March and will look at automation, communication technologies, and the human factor in the future ATM system. The Innovations Forum takes place on Friday 1 April and will focus on new operational network solutions integrating airports, mastering the complexity of such a system, and adapted validation processes.
Patrick Ky, SESAR JU Executive Director, will also give a presentation in the final plenary session (session 4) on 1 April on SESAR’s overall role in the future of ATM.
Come and meet the SESAR JU colleagues, Peter Hotham, SESAR JU Chief Technology and Innovation, and Jean-Luc Marchand, Programme Manager in charge of WP-E long-term research, at the SESAR stand and find out more about SESAR’s role in future air transport systems.
