New Zealand is setting up a new 10 year ATM Modernisation Programme - New Southern Sky - aligned with ICAO’s Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP) with the ultimate objective of modernising New Zealand’s airspace and air navigation system. Against this background, the SJU invited a delegation from the CAA New Zealand* on the 21 and 22 October to the SJU in order to share our own European experiences from SES/SESAR and in particular, how we have managed the alignment between the European ATM Master Plan and the ICAO GANP.
The New Zealand Delegation was also given the opportunity to present the New Southern Sky Programme and to discuss with the European Commission, EASA and Eurocontrol, which followed similar meetings with the FAA and Transport Canada (TCAA) TCAA and the UK CAA.
These meetings prompted very interesting discussions and further follow up discussions will be catered for during 2015, which could potentially be coordinated with the timing for planned meetings with both the Australian CAA and and the Australian ANSP Airservices.
