ICAO Asia/Pacific (APAC) office organised mid-August a symposium on seamless ATM. This two-days event addressed the ATM improvement programmes from Japan, US and Europe; ICAO global interoperability initiatives;  Industry perspectives as well as technology and system integration. Carlo Borghini, Director Administration and Finance at SESAR JU, presented the SESAR programme which was very well received, with a several key concepts and principles  that are applicable to the APAC region, such as the importance of civil/military cooperation, the necessity to overcome national boundaries and a global approach to network management.
