“Very well planned and executed. I would not expect differently from our hosts!”
“Some really interesting new research results”
“Workshop was well prepared and informative. Speakers were quite inspiring.”
“Session was quite innovative with various new areas of research, quality of presentation was high”
“One gets a sense of the evolution and challenges of the work rather than just the final outcome! This is a nice feature to maintain in future”
These are just a few quotes from enthusiastic participants at the 2nd SESAR Innovation Days held in Braunschweig on 27 to 29 November 2012. Following the opening speech under the theme “If you can dream it, you can do it” , 160 guests joined 3 productive days of presentations, information exchange, workshops, discovery … in an event promoted by SESAR Joint Undertaking under Work Package E, and co-hosted by DLR and Technische Universität Braunschweig.
SESAR Innovation Days were also the occasion for young scientists to present their research work and have a chance to win SESAR Young Scientist Award and a cheque of 5,000€. Mr. Sergio Ruiz Navarro of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona was selected as the Winner in 2012, a recognition of the relevance of his research to the thematic areas of WP-E through the project STREAM, as well as its maturity and originality.
The quality of research programmes presented for the Young Scientist Award was such that the Board chose to also encourage Mr Gonzalo Tobaruela Arnedo of Imperial College, London, for the PhD work performed thus far funded by SESAR WP-E research network HALA!
Long Term and Innovative Research at SESAR is proving once more to be a founding pillar of the programme, bringing together the research community and private companies to help build the future of ATM through exploratory research.
Planning for next year’s SESAR Innovation Days has already started and all will be welcome in Stockholm - stay tuned for more information…
