Representatives of the SESAR members involved in the dynamic Demand Capacity Balancing (DCB) trial, held between 8-10 November, expressed high satisfaction with the outcome of these trials. “Cooperation between the involved airlines, Flight Management Positions (FMPs) and the Network Manager was excellent. In one instance, the application of nine short-term ATFCM measures reduced the initial regulation delay from 810 to 99 minutes. This is very promising!”, SESAR project manager Othmar Schnabel (DFS) said. The trials also demonstrate better traffic prediction. Results of the trials will now be carefully analysed, and consideration is being given to the operational implementation of these working methods in the course of 2012-2013.
