The SESAR Joint Undertaking with members are organising a two-day event, kindly hosted by Dublin Airport Authority (DAA), to present the SESAR Remote Tower Services. The concept enables Air Traffic Control services (ATS) and Aerodrome Flight Information Services (AFIS) to be provided at aerodromes, where such services are either currently unavailable, or where it is difficult or costly to implement and staff a conventionally-manned facility.
The event, which will take place on 12 and 13 June at Dublin Airport, will provide an overview of the the work undertaken within the SESAR Research and Innovation Programme to develop and validate the Remote Tower concept. The meeting will also detail the regulatory and standardisation activities underway to support the implementation of these services. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from various key stakeholders including, air navigation service providers, national and regional authorities, manufacturing industry and staff associations on the business views of introducing Remote Tower Services.
