ODREA: Operational Demonstration of RPAS in European Airspace
Type: rpas
Countries: France
Domains: -
Description
The ODREA demonstration project will carry out using simulations and flight trials using ENAC’s Beech 58 and live trials using SAGEM’s Patroller. Both demonstration activities will be carried out in France.
ENAC will carry out Real Time Simulations in order to measure the impact of having several RPAS in the arrival, approach and departure procedures in a Terminal Area while realistic manned aircraft traffic is running. In addition, Fast Time Simulations will be conducted to study the efficiency of RPAS Detect and Avoid.
The SAGEM Patroller is an optionally piloted vehicle that can either be operated with a safety pilot on-board or from a commercial airport. The flight trials will be performed by SAGEM licensed crew operators and DSNA trained and qualified ATCO personnel. The activities will address a wide range of topics covering all phases of flight and airport operations, from take-off to landing and taxiing and will include degraded situations.
