Complexity Assessment and Resolution
Release: 2012
Reference: EXE-04.03-VP-031 & EXE-04.05-VP-043
Location: Toulouse
Description
About the exercise
The exercises validated prototype tools and algorithms in real-time simulations for MUAC and France (DSNA) that predict and monitor airspace complexity issues and manage related traffic load.
Results
• Tools improved the quality of workload prediction, leading to a reduction in the number of flights affected by level or route changes, time revisions, regulations.
• Automated detection of potential overload situations allows application of mitigation strategies as early as possible, ranging from modification of individual trajectories to modification by the Local Traffic Manager (LTM) of the route of several aircraft in a flow to balance incoming traffic.
