Description
About this exercise
This exercise is using an Airbus A380 at London Heathrow to test a voice procedure and quantify elements of Brake To Vacate (BTV) performance.
The procedure involves the Flight Crew activating BTV and informing Air Traffic Control via voice of the Arrival Runway Occupancy Time (AROT) and intended exit. The live trials will also permit an assessment of the Arrival Runway Occupancy Time (AROT) and consistency of performance in vacating runways at previously agreed runway exits.
Benefits
Improve the management of runway occupancy by:
- quantifying the consistency of actual and predicted runway exiting
- quantifying the consistency of predicted and actual runway Occupancy Time’s
- establishing and testing the voice-based operating procedure.
