The SESAR Joint Undertaking has just extended its framework agreement with Airports Council International for another two years. The objective of this contract is to raise awareness and boost relations between SESAR and its airport partners beyond the six hub operators of SEAC to more small and medium sized airports in the European region.
Over the last two years, ACI and SESAR have been working closely together to spread the news on SESAR developments, carrying out joint communication activities and consulting on technical issues such as safety, environment and the ATM Master plan.
Furthermore, the development of a SESAR Roadshow, focusing initially on the integration of airport operational planning into the network planning, has proven to be a success and has been presented to groups of airports in France, Germany and Stockholm to date. A new list of venues for the SESAR Roadshow has been established for 2013 and 2014 period - including the UK, Italy, France, Poland Spain and Croatia.
The decision to continue this partnership is welcomed by SESAR, as it has served to narrow the gap with airports and increase the mutual understanding and expectations of SESAR within the airport environment.
