This second webinar will explore the opportunities and solutions beyond the traditional scope of ATM R&D. During this session, we will explore how aviation can benefit from satellite technology, with an overview on the move from ground to space based communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS).

The webinar will provide three examples of the various technological innovations and R&D in the CNS domain:

  • The first example on enabling a spectrum-efficient integration of CNS services.
  • A second example will discuss the potential benefits, as well as the challenges, for moving towards digital Air-Ground voice.
  • The third and final example will elaborate on the potential to move away from barometric altimetry towards geometric altimetry, also at higher altitude.
