The SESAR JU is thrilled to participate in the 2024 ICAO Symposium on Non-CO2 Aviation Emissions, an event dedicated to raising awareness and fostering collaboration among global stakeholders on the critical issue of non-CO2 emissions from aviation operations.

Taking place in person from 16 to 18 September 2024 at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal, Canada, this three-day symposium will bring together experts and leaders to explore the latest scientific knowledge on non-CO2 effects. It will provide a platform to share the work undertaken by ICAO and key stakeholders, while also delving into future strategies to potentially mitigate and address these emissions, despite the existing scientific uncertainties.

SESAR JU is committed to addressing the challenge of non-CO2 aviation emissions and is funding a diverse portfolio of research and development projects aimed at exploring and advancing innovative solutions. Our participation in the ICAO Symposium will highlight some of these initiatives, demonstrating our ongoing efforts to contribute to a more sustainable future for aviation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about our project portfolio on Day 2 of the event, when our colleague Stella Salanda, Programme Manager, will be speaking in Session 3: Mitigating Non-CO2 Aviation Emissions – What is Possible – Part II: Innovative Operations (11:30 – 12:45).
