The SESAR Joint Undertaking organised an open information day on 20 February on the occasion of the launch of the third exploratory research and second industrial research calls of its Digital European Sky programme.

The hybrid event presented the key elements of the calls, which covers a wide range of topics aimed at generating innovative concepts, methodologies, technologies and at  advancing significantly the six development priorities defined in the European ATM Master Plan for industrial research to support the delivery of a Digital European Sky.

A combined budget of EUR 254 million is earmarked for the research and innovation priorities outlined in the SESAR JU’s 2024-2025 Bi-annual work programme, within the framework of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.

The hybrid information day provided an overview of the Digital European Sky programme, with a particular focus on the requirements of the exploratory research and industrial research. It was also an opportunity for potential applicants to find out more about the Horizon Europe evaluation procedure and SESAR 3 JU programme management rules.
