On Thursday 18th June more than 75 researchers from academia, research centres and industry assembled at the SJU premises for the first public event of Workpackage E, long-term and innovative research.
The objective of the meeting was to explain the modalities of the forthcoming launch of the call for networks. Michael Standar, Chief Operation Concept & Validation of the SESAR Joint Undertaking started with an introduction to SESAR, then Colin Meckiff (WP-E manager) presented the objectives and goals of the workpackage. The four research themes that will be covered in the first call were then explained by Dirk Schaefer, and finally Marc Bourgois went into detail on the technicalities of the call itself. Considering the short notice period, the attendance at the meeting was impressive, and the interest of participants to be a part of this unique SESAR workpackage was evident.
